FORMA and FORMA PLUS

FORMA and FORMA PLUS is a non-invasive and non-surgical skin treatment that tightens, lifts and improve the texture and smoothness of your skin. Using radio frequency energy, it heats the deeper layers of your skin to stimulate the formation of new collagen and skin tightening. FORMA is for smaller areas of the face and neck this includes the forehead, crow’s feet, the brows, and under the eyes. FORMA PLUS treatments are for larger areas of the body such as the upper arm area, the knees, inner thighs and the abdomen.

Benefits of the FORMA treatment:

  • Minimally invasive with minimal downtime: return to your normal activities the same or next day. It achieves results without the prolonged redness or pigmentation concerns commonly seen with other procedures
  • Tighter, smoother skin
  • Reduces skin irregularities and appearance of lines
  • It can be used on all skin types with minimal risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Because it uses radiofrequency energy it is safer than traditional lasers on darker skin tones.
  • Fully customizable with multiple penetration depths

FORM PLUS can be used on the body popular treatments include arms, legs, knees and abdomen.

How many treatments will I need? How long does the treatment effect last?

Depending on your treatment needs, you can expect to have weekly sessions performed over a six-week period.

What does the procedure involve?

Before you begin the treatment, photos may be taken for later comparison and a consent will be reviewed and signed. The Aesthetician will cleanse your skin using chlorhexidine. Ultrasound gel will be applied to the treatment area and the FORMA head will glide over the selected areas until a specific temperature is reached and maintained. Radio frequency will deeply enter the skin, heating it. The treatment head has a temperature gauge built into it to maintain control and ensures that no areas are under- or over- treated. A sensation of warmth is typically felt during the procedure. Each session lasts 30minutes to 2 hours.

What are the side effects?

FORMA and FORMA PLUS treatments are essentially painless and have no downtime. The most common side effects include: moderate skin redness which will resolve in a few hours.

When will I see results?

Multiple sessions are required for the greatest results, and you should expect your progress to improve with each visit. Beneficial effects of Fractora may start decreasing after a year requiring “touch up” sessions.

Do I need to do anything in preparation for this treatment?

Please advise us prior to treatment if you have suffered in the past with cold sores on the skin or lips. This viral infection may be re-activated in these areas. You may be required to take an anti-viral medication such as Valtrex on the day of your treatment and for several days after your treatment. No sun bathing, tanning beds or sunless tanning creams two weeks before and four weeks after your laser treatment. The presence of any tan decreases the effectiveness of the laser and can increase the chance of post-treatment complications. You may have a test patch treatment if you have darker or sensitive skin or a tendency to hyperpigmentation or scar. Most patients will not need a test patch done.
