Microneedling

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a non-surgical and non-ablative procedure for skin rejuvenation. It is used to improve fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, scaring and other skin texture irregularities. A Micro needling device is used to create tiny punctures on the top layer of the skin. These micro-injuries prompt the bodies healing response to create new collagen and elastin. A series of Micro needling treatments will leave your skin looking smoother, restored and rejuvenated.

Benefits Of Microneedling

  • Improves skin texture and elasticity
  • Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduces the appearance of large pores
  • Reduces the appearance of acne and surgical scars

What Does The Procedure Involve?

The Medical Aesthetician will cleanse your skin using chlorhexidine followed by topical numbing cream to reduce any discomfort. The Medical Aesthetician will use a device with fine needles to penetrate the top layer of your skin causing micro-injuries. These injuries prompt the skin to heal and repair itself resulting in new collagen and elastin formation.

What Are The Side Effects?

The recovery time for this treatment is minimal. Immediately post treatment you will notice redness and swelling at the treatment site. Swelling and redness will depend upon the depth of penetration during the treatment. These resolve in 24-48hours. Small bruises may be apparent particularly over areas of finer skin such as the lower eyelid, neck and décolletage. These will resolve over approximately 2 to 4 days.

When Will I See Results?

To achieve the best results, it is recommended that patients have 4 sessions spaced at 4 weeks intervals. After a Microneedling treatment, your body will start to naturally regenerate the skin, it will take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration are seen.
